Welcome to our school
website. We have set it up in an attempt to keep important information in
a convenient place for all stakeholders. One of our many goals is to make
strong connections to the community and with our informative website we hope to
inform all stakeholders of current events and build a storage location for
important documents such as school improvement plans, calendars, monthly
newsletters, SBDM council agendas and meeting minutes as well as Foundation Team
V documentation. If you are a frequent user of our site and have a
recommendation on how we could better serve you, we would enjoy hearing from
you. We hope you enjoy your visit. Come back and see us on the web for
up-to-date information.

Release-
Starting later this month we will
begin our morning security procedures requiring visitors to check-in and
check-out through the front office. The system is set-up to use visitor ID’s
for quick documentation. This procedure came about after SBDM discussions and
parent surveys identifying the need to increase morning security. I hope the
procedures go well and ask that directions be followed as we attempt to
implement a workable system that is quick, easy, and helpful in creating a safer
environment.
Over the next two weeks, we need all
visitors that will be in the building during a typical school day to visit the
front office so they can get their visitor’s ID created. This will involve a
couple of question, the data entered into the computer, a quick picture, and
then ID number assigned and card printed.
Each day we ask that parents have
their ID’s ready to use as they check-in and then wear them using a lanyard
around their neck to identify they’ve checked into the building.
All visitors will be required to use
the front door. We have a designated parking area established and it will be
critical for all guests to use this area so we don’t disrupt our staff parking.
Staff members will be available to direct parking and to help escort
parent/student foot traffic.
If you’re a parent that drops off
your child but does not leave your car, then the current procedure will remain
in place. Teachers or staff members will be at the ready to open the door for
your child to exit the vehicle.
The biggest change is going to be no
visitors allowed in the back or side entrances. All visitors are to go through
the front door after January 22nd. Unless you have a Muhlenberg County ID
badge, you won’t be allowed into the building through any exit other than the
front door and that will only be after you’ve shown your picture ID and
signed-in.
Again, as principal I hope I don’t
anger anyone in implementing this but I’m doing so in an attempt to protect all
our children. We want our building to be assessable to parents but in a safe
and organized way.
