These emails are great and have become my favorite Monday read. Thanks for sharing!
From the Kentucky Department of Education (after their visit to MCMS)…Thank you so much for the invitation. We took away some great ideas for the statewide exploration plan and look forward to visiting again! Please share with your staff how appreciative we are of the hospitality and welcome!
From an attendee at our MC Community Conversations…It was a great meeting last night. It really gave me so much to look forward to as my kids grow up here.
I am proud to be a paraprofessional, and I know I speak for many of us when I say that we truly care about our students and want to see them succeed.
We just switched labs in my 6th period class. One young man was at a lab by himself. He is new to our school this year. I ask two of our other groups if they would be willing for him to join them instead of working alone. Both groups approached him and asked if he wanted to join them. He accepted and now is teaming with two students that he has never interacted with before. Good kids doing good things!
Reading these has become my favorite way to start my Mondays. It is so encouraging to read all of the positives happening in our school district.
From a community member and weekly reader…Wow! Loved the paragraph on fourth graders problem solving and learning about circuits in a real-life Ag setting! Outstanding. And 100% attendance at the Renaissance Center thumbs up.
I am loving our house system at Muhlenberg South Elementary and the excitement in our school!
Students in one class started cheering each other on when the lesson got hard. Nobody told them to do it. That support kept the whole group moving.
A student in the hallway stopped to pick up what another child had dropped and walked with them to class. It was a small thing. Those choices are what being a Blackhawk looks like.
Our staff has done a great job trying to use positive reinforcement to help promote a positive culture in our building and community.
Classrooms wrote cards to our custodial staff for National Custodians Day. This was completely unprompted and shows how much our staff and kids appreciate our staff.
We had our first assembly of the year and it was great. The staff competed against the kids in a relay, students were celebrated, and parents got to share in the fun! It was a great morning!
