
The middle school IGNITE Program provided a Meet and Greet last night at the Central City Convention Center. Returning members along with new members enjoyed pizza, swimming and prizes while learning about the great things IGNITE offers throughout middle school. Special thanks to Rachel Evitts and Lisa Greene for all the work they put into this exciting program.











Congratulations to Tonita Browning for receiving the Driver Trainer of the Year from the Student Transportation Association of Kentucky (STAK) at the conclusion of their conference this week in Hopkinsville. Thank you, Tonita, for the work you do in our transportation department!





Teachers across the district are attending a Project Based Learning Training in Paducah this week. This training will help teachers design and implement powerful learning in the classroom as we plan for the upcoming school year.






At the June Board Meeting, the Board of Education recognized the Bremen Elementary Energy Eagles Team for being named the 2023 Kentucky Elementary Project of the Year and National Elementary School Team Runner-Up. The Energy Eagles, along with their parents and sponsors, Mandy Toomey and Emily Gardner, will be traveling to Washington, DC June 24-27 to accept their awards, participate in energy-related activities with other student energy teams from across the United States, and tour the nation's capital. Congratulations to Harper Aders, Layla Gardner, Erin Gordon, Dayton Meyer, Alec Jones, Brennan Marsala, Sydney Eubanks, Kaylan Berry, Charles Wiggins, Sarah Abney, Grady Ward, Jaxon Holman, Liam Uzzle, Jaxson Bailey, Ben Gentry, Patrick Sparks, Teagan Paige, Bo Gardner, and Kainin Gray.











The Muhlenberg County Board of Education would like to congratulate Mr. Lee Jones for being named Principal of Muhlenberg County Career High (Muhlenberg Job Corps Center.) Mr. Jones has 18 years in education. Jones shared, "I am excited for this great opportunity to lead our students into career paths and see them succeed for years to come. I also want to advocate for our career high and highlight the value it brings to our community."


The Muhlenberg County Board of Education would like to congratulate Mrs. Carrie Clark for being named Principal of our Renaissance Center. Mrs. Clark is in her 24th year in education with the past 10 years in our high school administration. Clark had this to say about her new role, "I am excited to accept this position as Principal at the Renaissance Center. I am eager to start this new chapter in my career and look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of students."


The Muhlenberg County Board of Education would like to congratulate Mrs. Sharley Davis for being named Gifted and Talented Teacher for the district. Superintendent Orr announced, "Mrs. Davis will collaborate with our current GT teachers as they continue to strive to meet the needs of our GT students across the district." Mrs. Davis has just completed her 20th year in the classroom, beginning at Logan County for five years and then at Bremen Elementary and Longest Elementary where she has been the Academic Team Coach for the past eight years. "I am excited to take on this new role as well as enthusiastic about the future of the Gifted and Talented Program in Muhlenberg County Schools," Davis shared.


The Muhlenberg County Board of Education would like to congratulate Mrs. Stacie Jones for being named Instructional Supervisor for the district. Mrs. Jones is finishing 18 years in Muhlenberg County Schools with the past eight years as principal and three as assistant principal at Greenville Elementary. "I am thankful to have this opportunity," stated Jones. "I look forward to serving the students, teachers, and support staff across the district."


Muhlenberg County School District has been recognized as a National Beta District of Distinction! Every school within our district has a beta club from 4th - 12th grade. We are one of only 42 districts nationwide! The National Beta Club's motto is "Let us lead by serving others."



The Muhlenberg County Board of Education would like to congratulate Mr. Brian Lile for being named Human Resources Director. Mr. Lile is finishing 22 years in Muhlenberg County Schools with the past 13 years as an administrator. "I am excited to begin this new role at the Board of Education as we all continue to make Muhlenberg County Schools a wonderful place to work," stated Lile. He will begin this new role on June 1st as he shadows our current HR Director, Melody Browning, before she retires at the end of summer. Congratulations, Mr. Brian Lile!

The Central City Elementary Family Resource Center hosted a volunteer/mentor luncheon yesterday recognizing those community members who have offered countless hours of their time to help at the school. With a starfish theme, Vicki Taylor thanked each one for making a difference!
