The Muhlenberg Moment

In honor of Patriot Day, special activities took place across the school district as we reflected on the events of September 11, 2001. MCHS, in collaboration with Mrs. Erica Elliott of AmeriCorps and EngageKY along with Major Gilbert and the JROTC program, held a ceremony where they presented the Freedom Flag at the high school.
Bremen Elementary held a 9/11 assembly and invited first responders. After the assembly, students paraded outside to see the first responders with their vehicles and present special cards to them.

We understand there has been a lot of confusion over the word "torso" in the dress code policy. Our goal is simple - to keep school a safe, respectful, and distraction-free place to learn while allowing students to express themselves. We understand that clarification around the wording in the dress code is needed.
From this point forward, the reference for torso in the Muhlenberg County Schools dress code will be: The human torso is the central part of the body that connects the head and limbs, comprising the chest, abdomen, and back. A picture has been included with a line at the bottom of the torso which represents the length all tops must meet in order to cover the torso.
Thank you for working with us to create a positive environment for every student.
